- Take Something

 "Take something"이라는 표현은 "무언가를 복용하다"라는 의미로 사용된다.

 

보통 약을 먹을 때 이 표현을 자주 쓴다.

 

예문:

- Take this medicine three times a day after meals.

- You should take the painkillers every six hours.

- 회식은? a staff dinner!

- 보통 뭐하면서 쉬어?

 "How do you recharge?" 는 보통 뭐 하면서 쉬어? 정도의 문맥으로 사용할 수 있는 문장이다.

 

예문: 

A: "You've been working really hard lately. How do you recharge?"

B: "I usually go for a long walk in the park or listen to my favorite music. It helps me relax and clear my mind."

- Surge?

 Surge는 보통 짧은 시간 내에 아주 많은, 강한 무언가가 밀집되거나 터지는 것을 나타낸다. 

 

영영 사전에 보면 아래와 같이 나와있다.

예문: 

- An unexpected surge in electrical power caused the computer to crash.

- There has been a surge in house prices recently.

- Something on your mind?

 Something on your mind?"이라는 표현은 "무슨 걱정 있어?" 또는 "안좋은 일 있어?"라는 의미로 사용된다.

 

예문:

  B: "Actually, yes. I've been thinking about how we can improve our project's efficiency."

  A: "I noticed you've been looking worried all evening. Something on your mind?"

- I'm calling to vs I'm calling for

 "I'm calling to~"와 "I'm calling for~"는 전화를 걸 때 사용되는 표현이지만, 목적과 의도에 있어 약간의 차이가 있다.

"I'm calling to~"는 전화를 건 구체적인 행동이나 목적을 설명할 때 사용된다. 이 표현은 전화를 통해 달성하고자 하는 구체적인 동작이나 정보의 교환, 의사 결정 등을 명시할 때 쓰인다. 즉, 전화를 거는 이유가 무엇인지를 직접적으로 밝히는 데 적합하다.

예문:

1. "I'm calling to confirm our meeting time for tomorrow."
2. "I'm calling to discuss the changes in the project plan."

반면, "I'm calling for~"는 주로 누군가를 찾거나, 특정한 사람이나 서비스, 또는 도움을 요청할 때 사용된다. 이 표현은 대상이나 목적을 위해 전화를 걸었다는 것을 나타내며, 종종 정보를 요구하거나 특정 인물과의 연결을 원할 때 사용된다.

예문:

2. "I'm calling for information about your summer courses."
